Dr. Nancy Chen, MD is an Eye Physician & Surgeon (Eye MD or Ophthalmologist), and performs surgery and routine eye exams. As an Ophthalmologist (MD), she has a medical degree with at least 12 years of education and training and is licensed to practice medicine, diagnose and treat eye conditions and also perform eye surgery. This is not to be confused with an Optometrist (OD), who has a degree in optometry with at least six years of education and is licensed and qualified to determine the need for glasses and contact lenses; prescribe optical correction; and screen and treat for some eye conditions.
